Dr.Surjit Tarafdar works as a Staff Specialist in the departments of Medical Assessment Unit and Nephrology at the Blacktown Hospital and is also a conjoint lecturer in Medicine at the University of Western Sydney. While undergoing Advanced Training in Nephrology at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide he had conceptualised and eventually co-written “Passing the FRACP Written Examination- Questions and Answers” published by Wiley-Blackwell. He has a keen interest in teaching and this is exemplified by the following teaching awards-
- Burns Alpers Clinical Teaching Award in December 2011 from Flinders University for outstanding clinical teaching to the graduating class of 2011.
- Professor Derek Frewin AO Citation for Clinical teaching in 2013 from University of Adelaide for recognition by students for excellence in clinical teaching in the School of Medicine.
- Professor Richard Ruffin Basic Physician Trainee Teaching Award in Nov 2013 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia.
